You should watch THE OAKBURN OPUS by RedDiamond on Youtube
There are many great and many mediocre horror series on the internet, and a decent chunk of those are hosted on Youtube. A portion of those are Analog Horror-- and few of that small group are any good. The Oakburn Opus is one of those rare few. While unfinished (as of the time of this post), it is still being updated and is nearly complete. The sound design, visual metaphors, characterization and balance between showing and telling are masterful, and it only gets better with every episode. I cannot stress enough that this series is beautiful, in every sense of the word. I don't write reviews often, as my followers surely know, but this series... I can't go without sharing it everywhere I know. Please go watch it. Then watch it again, and notice even more that you missed the first time. The pacing. The tension. The writing and blocking... majestic. Breathtaking. RedDiamond taps into the oft-tread depths of mythos and legend and creates a masterpiece unlike anything you've seen before.
Set aside about an hour and a half to watch this series, it's so worth it. And maybe when you're done, watch the VHS playlist on RedDiamond's channel as well. Did I mention the soundtracks to both of these series are available on REDDIAMONDEXTRAs? Come to Old Oakburn, and stay a while. The water's fine.
I’m actually going insane.
The analog horror series “Oakburn Opus” is incredible and I’m not seeing ANYONE talk about it. If you like Malevolent PLEASE go watch it. To me it has similar vibes for some reason? Idk maybe it’s the symbols and the book in the most recent episode, along with the main antagonist. Regardless, the visuals are amazing, the soundtrack is incredible, and everything about it is stunning. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go watch it if you get the chance
Reblogging this to spread the word too, this is one of the best horror series I have ever seen and I can’t wait to see what comes next
Not to mention RedDiamonds other horror projects outside of this series, which are just as good and so insanely well edited
This post above unfortunately tracks with reports of many union linked/involved devs at Microsoft/Xbox being """coincidentally""" laid off last week.
There were a large number of ""middle manager"" types which were affected by the layoffs, but regardless the fact is the vast bulk of people laid off were loyal hardworking employees who were not part of any alleged "management bloat problem"
One of the worst parts is that it's damn near impossible to *prove* malicious intention behind mass layoffs, so any sort of lawsuit or legal action is unlikely to go anywhere
Sorry i simply think it is very sweet that brennan wanted to make his friends laugh so badly he accidentally made his campaign's finale too silly the second smiling Richard Nixon walked out and they all lost it. Like. The intrepid heroes are the sweetie-est actually.
This was seriously the most insane, chaotic, unpredictable finale they’ve had, and I loved every second of it

i love making art
Being a fan of, or at least familiar with, opera gives me some really weird experiences sometimes. Specifically in companies choice to use what seems to be random songs or arias in their commercials without any knowledge of what they are singing
One commercial used the famous Habanera aria from Carmen, a song about how the character Carmen of a wild, free spirited woman with contradicting views on love (and sex), to sell diapers
Nessun Dorma from Turandot, a song sung by a prince who believes about to win a bet, which could end in his death if he looses, to marry a princess he is in love with, who has threatened to kill the entire city if he wins, and one of the most famous tenor arias ever, was used to sell dog food that stops constipation
La Donna è Mobile from Rigoletto is just a guy saying how women make men miserable and can never make up their mind, and was used to sell Axe body spray and Doritos
I just wish these people would know what these songs are even saying before they just throw them in because they sound pretty and fancy
legend tells of a mysterious being called “nuance” that allows multiple things to be true at the same time. some say you can still hear its voice whispering in the trees
wait so vesper died in 2003, 23 years ago, and nancy is 51. she was 28 when she wrote that obituary. how long do you think she’d been working for the omaha sunday scoop at that point? no wonder it hit hard, a girl just a few years younger than she is, passionate and driven like she is, who never had the chance to be more. how much of nancy’s career do you think was driven by the determination that someone needs to tell the story of people who think they’ll disappear without anyone noticing, how many nights did she spend doggedly pursing a story, exhausted and upset, and pulling out that old obituary for the strength to keep pushing forwards?
"You didn't disappear, no one disappears" made me well up with such sudden tears. Here is a young woman who died. And here is the journalist who wrote her obituary, who talked to her loved ones and would have heard how passionate vesper was. And nancy saw her, when she wrote her obituary. She saw her and she remembered her, and when she noticed vampire superheros pop up and one was named bat child she knew that that was the same bright young woman. God I love nancy danderhoof

You'll feel a lot of things while watching it...
...but disappointment won't be one of them.
You had one job, Gooseworx...
AND YOU FRICKIN' NAILED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Text: If you're good at bringing bones to life, and use this magic upon a living person, you won't create a living puppet. You will give them a parasite, a voice in their head that can only be silenced by death.
Imagine if there were different forms, builds, and colors to different werewolves based on the species and subspecies of wolf that they are integrated with.
We all know the standard hulking werewolf based around the gray wolf, and while most wolves on the surface look the same since they’re all wolves, imagine how cool it would be to have different types and categories of werewolf based in reality!
Imagine running into a werewolf and knowing, oh, that’s a coastal sea werewolf, whose diet is likely largely fish. Strange that they have come to this part of the country, but I guess I’m safe so long as I don’t get close!
Or having to strategize how to beat a werewolf based on the cultural beliefs of the countries the wolf originates from. Like an Indian werewolf being smaller means it could be more athletic, while a gray werewolf is slower, but stronger.
I just want more people to play around with different werewolf concepts

justice for good omens jesus he was amazing and I loved him so much. He had an amazing set up as a character just to immediately disappear in thin air without having any purpose in the plot 💔 I love you jesus
He was honestly one of my favorite parts of the finale, and then they completely dropped him out of any relevance and made everything for nothing
