Anyhow, in case anyone wasn’t aware let this be today’s reminder that much of holistic medicine is largely unsubstantiated, divorced and removed from its cultural origins, and rebranded for wide-scale market by a handful of wealthy corporations to grift sick and frightened people out of their money by hiding behind soft, gentle packaging and words like “natural”, “organic”, “traditional”, “spirit”, “support”, and “supplement”, all of which are genuine and meaningful in proper context but more importantly have little to no legal definition and as such cannot be verified or regulated, things that corporate grifters are famously not fond of, which- in overwhelming and tragic effect- means that most supplements, herbs, holistic products, and procedures you can buy off a shelf but a doctor won’t reccommend range from doing very little very slowly to actively killing people
