So, the funny thing about the stretching thing is that they actually came up with that idea later into Unleashed's development. When they were playtesting the Werehog's combat segments, they didn't like how the combat felt because Sonic didn't have enough range on his attacks. So, they made his arms stretchy to give him some extra reach!
