No idea when this love confession actually happened, but it was shared with the fandom last year, not in TTM, so no worries! Devon and Iain talk about it here in the Deluxe Elf Interview of the Hot Brown Morning Potion podcast from last December.

Runaan fell in love with Ethari first

Ethari grew to love him back, but he didn’t let on because he’s playful and Runaan was so earnest and determined to court him

Lain, as Runaan’s BFF, encouraged him to move past Moonshadow courtship rituals and confess his love openly to Ethari

so Runaan did, in as secure a way as possible in case Ethari didn’t feel the same, so he wouldn’t die of embarrassment about getting rejected if someone overheard them
