In fact it's kinda weird that the brimhats don't recruit more. Maybe they all just suck as teachers but I feel like there's not enough witches to notice if like 10 kids like Custas went missing every couple of months. Taking the Sheev Palpatine approach of "I don't wanna get stuck teaching someone the basics so I'm gonna let someone else train them near to perfection before I radicalize them."

iguin has multiple books here, and a pile of coins in their bowl, implying that they have probably been there all day and have sold the book to multiple people. what makes coco special isnt anything about her specifically, its probably because she didnt just manage to cast spells, but make it past the veil and *into* witch society without getting her memories erased. where are these other books? what happened to their owners? its more likely they got caught early on or joined the brimhats. coco is probably the only person who actually, *fully* made it into the witching world, out of everyone iguin has tried this with. which probably has to do with their long term goal. if iguin really wanted to recruit coco they could have just mindcontrolled her or unpetrified their mother the same way they cured euini
