I've been with this franchise since I was 8 and have always had an affection for it. It's writing feels like a mix of Shakespeare and Poe with it's morbid themes and it's ability to work with timelines and paradoxes. Not perfect but still great.

Anyways moving on to LoKD remake. I've waited for remakes of the og series for ages. Was happy with the look of Soul Reaver 1 and felt neutral about Soul Reaver 2 (They made sarafan Raziel look so emotionless compared to his og appearance like da hell) but still it was nice. Then came defiance.

The way the lighting looks on the models makes them feel out of place. Whenever light touches the models they begin to look so off that they don't even look like they come from the game. They look like fanmade assets instead of HD in house models like what we saw in Soul Reaver 1. If they touched them up a bit more and made the shadows act correctly with the models than most of my complaints would disappear.
