It's been a rough few days with the new little settling in. Got the new nursery all set up, got some supplies, and got her a trip to the doctor to make sure she's okay. Doc said she's real small, likely the runt of her litter and will need extra food and what not. I also decided on a name. Sawdust.

Whenever my grandmother had the least difficulty opening something with fingers, she would tear at it with her teeth. And my mom if she witnessed this would go "MoooOOOOMMM!! We have SCISSORS and KNIVES!" And my Grandma would retort a) that the scissors were all the way over there and her teeth were right here, and b) that God gave us teeth before he gave us knives. She was so right about all this, and I'm on her side. Sometimes the biting power of teeth is what you need. That said she also used to use a paring knife as a toothpick which would also make my mom say "MooooOOOMM!! we have TOOTHPICKS!" and my grandmother would say that God gave us knives before he gave us toothpicks. Fascinating temporal hierarchy of God's tool blessings implied here.
[ Cho walks downstairs to the living room, curious about what fae had thought fae'd heard last night. And also, because it's morning and it's breakfast time. ]
"Morning, Josie. Weird question: did I hear you find a puppy in the middle of the night or...?"

"It's not a puppy."
"Oh.... wait what-"
[ Cho walks up to Josie, wanting to get a better look at the thing she's holding. It's a weird little thing, unlike any baby animal fae'd seen on this farm. ]
"What is that? Some kinda... noseless cat? Tiny-ass ears..."
[ Xe gently taps on the thing's forehead, like xe wants to give it actual headpats but is hesitant to do so. ]
The tiny thing scrunches up it's face and makes a sound similar to an upset frog. Granny calms it by running her fingers along it's spin gently, "it's not a noselss cat. This is a newborn stick figure. If I had to guess, I'd say about 3 or 4 weeks old. I'm taking her to a friend later today who can give her a proper check up."
[ When the thing starts its angy squeak, Cho stops petting it. She awkwardly looks away and instead makes eye contact with Josie. ]
"Huh. Didn't realize sticks could be born. I thought everyone was just... drawn."
[ And while looking their granny in the face, Cho notices the bags under her eyes. ]
"You look... really tired."
The fussy baby has calmed down now as Granny sighs, "was to busy with this little one to get an sleep last night. And I've still got a lot of calls to make before I can take a nap, but I can't make those calls until it's down for a nap."
Suddenly Granny gets a wonderful idea! She motions for Chosen to step closer and when Fea does, the baby is placed into Chosen's arms and granny moves fea's arms to the correct position for baby holding, "here. Can you watch the baby for a bit while I make those calls?" The baby is looking up at Chosen with a squint but isn't screeching yet.
[ Well. There's a baby in her arms now. Cho can't really hand the baby back to Josie, with it now nestled in her arms. Plus, Josie really needs the help. ]
"Uh... sure. Yeah, I can hold her."
[ Breakfast can wait. Cho has mostly recovered from her previous detainment and that one week-long stint at his old house back in May. Hunger is not the constant or shackle or drain on her health that it had once been. ]
"Can I sit down, or do I gotta stay standing?"
Granny lets out a small, light hearted chuckle as she replies, "you can sit down Angel, she likes the rocking chair as long as you don't move to fast. It usually puts babies right to sleep." As Chosen is given the instructions, Sawdust sniffs at the hand near her head a bit before latching onto a finger and chewing, though she does not yet have any teeth so it might feel a bit weird. But when you are teething, anything will do.

They are quite tiny. But I finally got the little thing to go to sleep. I am going to take them to a doctor I know in a few hours to see how they're doing and if being left in the cold like that did anything bad. I'll figure out a name soon enough.

Some lore stuff about what exactly the creature that has been given to Granny is
Sawdust is what, in my universe, is known as a Bitty. Bitties are the baby form of stick figures. They have a very specific growth cycle to get to looking like stick figures like Purple and Agent.
When a stick figure is born they look like a cross between a few different animals and the exact animal depends on the stick, but there are a few common features. They are always quadrupedal, they have a tail, and are born with their eyes and ears closed. Most bitties are fluffy and look similar to either a kitten or puppy, but some are known to be feathered like a baby bird or scaled like a lizard. It is possible, but extremely rare, for bitties to be born with hooves instead of paws. This is often seen as a birth defect though and can lead to serious hand related health issues when they grow older.
For examples of the mixing of creatures, if Red were turned into a bitty he would be very cat like with claws and whiskers, but he would also have tiny tusks like a boar. Meanwhile if Purple was she would look more like a puppy but with a carapace similar to a bug. Another example would be my Agent was a very dog like bitty with a tail and paws similar to a lemur while Primal actual had a build similar to a mule with a cat like tail, though she did not have hooves.
Bitties will stay in this stage until they are roughly 3 to 5 years old when they start going into what is referred to as the "raptor stage" where they start to rear up on their hind legs more often than not but their bones haven't finished shifting to where they can stand up fully without any trouble. This is often called the Mischief Phase as this is when they can finally reach the counters and tables with their front paws. They usually shed their baby fur or feathers at this point as well.
By roughly 7 to 8, they are able to fully stand up all day without dropping down onto all fours and are no longer considered a bitty, but they are still a child. Sticks do not reach Legal Adult until they are 18. Also roughly 6 months to a year after they fully transition to two legs their tail will fall off. This is completely painless and treated similar to when a human looses their first baby tooth.
Another important fact: Bitties are usually born in litters of 3 to 6. It is not advised for them to be raised solo but it's also not extremely uncommon. It's mostly a problem of socialization, which can be negated by lots of play dates with other bitties

Someone left a whole infant on my porch in a basket. Why does it look so sad. Well. I suppose if I had been left on a stranger's porch at 1am with nothin but a blanket I'd be right sad too. Poor thing was trembling like a leaf before I brought it in to get it warmed up and fed. I'll take it to a doctor friend to get the poor baby checked out in the morning.
A small child wearing a mask similar to that of the transformed Sky Anon toddles over, chirps at Josie, and places down a coin-shaped object with a candle engraved on it. They then point to one of the roast beef sandwiches and look up at her.
Josie smiles widely at the little child and hands them not just one to the triangles, but two of them! She also slides the sky child back their coin, "don't you worry none, no child will ever have to pay for a full belly in my house."
