Voracious

Our main character is Giovanna. We'll see if I end up including Rafaela's PoV any, I'm extremely 50/50 on that atm.

But anyway, Giovanna is a rebel captain and a pilot in charge of her own crew. Rafaela, meanwhile, is a mercenary commander and pilot with her own company. Both have quite... Questionable reputations, but no one's doubting their piloting skills, if nothing else.

Then something something and they both end up getting snatched by the Empire, whether at the same confrontation or in different ones, who knows. I sure don't (yet).

The fun bit is that they both get put into the hound program. Rafaela was already a lunatic so it barely took anything to remove the screws that were already hanging on for dear life. To the other characters she's quite disturbing for how thoroughly and quickly she embraces the hound, tbh.

Giovanna takes longer. She puts up a fight. A real good one. Breaks in the end though. Who wouldn't.

Once proper hounds, it turns out they work well together, so they often end up put into the same battles to play off of each other. Outside of work, they also like some... Play, with each other. Or, mostly Rafaela does. Giovanna usually has to go along for one reason or another. At first, anyway. Over time it becomes more mutual but in like, a fucked up way. Brainwashing will scramble a person a bit and all that.

Giovanna also probably had a lover from before, but hell if I know how that'll play into the story.

But the point is Giovanna and Rafaela's mutual... Love affair, if you can call it that (you can't. You really can't, look at it). Mutual obsession, more like. Deep infatuation. Except they're only good as fucking dogs, so how do you build any manner of human relationship from that?

That's the thing, you don't. Everything they are, alone, together, to one another, in any way, is twisted and sick for any sane person's standards.

SO THE PRIMARY POINT OF THE STORY WOULD BE TO EXPLORE THAT.

Whatever the actual rest of the plot is, I have no idea! I haven't given it enough thought. At least something about Lieutenant Finnean defecting to the Empire with some of the other mercenaries that worked under Rafaela; there's some REAL deep loyalty in there.

And to anyone that knew her, Rafaela's whole fall from grace isn't even. Surprising.
