#my party was just starting the campaign walking through a port city and we smelled alchemy ingredients #and we knew we wanted health potions so we followed the smell thinking we'd end up in an apothecary #but when we opened the door to the “apothecary” it turned out to just be a private residence where someone was brewing tea #so our party had just inadvertently committed b&e and accidentally walked in on some guy just brewing tea in his own home #so we apologized for the intrusion and asked if he happened to know anywhere we could buy potions #and he just happened to be an alchemist so he was like #“i don't normally sell to the general public since most of my stock is just bought by the city guards #but if you want I can sell some to you in bulk?“#and we were like 'yeah hit is with a number!'#because we had a lot of gold so we figured if the price per potion was lucrative enough we wouldn't mind getting that costco kind of deal #but there was no bulk order discount and the price was still pretty high so we were like 'on second thought maybe not #thanks tho'#so tl;dr we smelled potions and broke into someones home and immediately after being forgiven we decided to waste their time
