A Tasteful Book Whore

I was rambling on the issue of museums and human remains and how certain populations are more likely to have their bodies put on display to be gawked at and then went "well I guess the Pompeii casts were of Europeans. there are bones in there right?" and Googled it to make sure, at which point I confirmed that yes there are bones in there, but more interestingly DNA testing revealed that a cast of an adult holding a child everyone assumed was a mother and child were, in fact, a man and a kid entirely unrelated to him. Honestly that's more moving to me. Maybe they were connected in a way other than blood, but maybe a stranger saw a child when the world was ending and thought the one thing he could do was hold them.

It's actually funny how humans decided "fuck living in caves with all these creepy crawlies", got out of caves, built houses that have all the nice parts of a cave without any of the yucky parts, and then all the little bugs and spiders and other creepy crawly creatures that used to also live in caves thought "sweet, new and improved caves" and moved right back in with us.

I know I’m really late to the game on this but the part in epic when Poseidon says “any last words” and Odysseus says “all I gotta do is open this bag” and then the “what.” Is literally so funny to me.

Also adding in to this: Odysseus felt every second of those twenty years. He felt every moment he was away from his wife and son. He suffered immensely with his only goal being to get back to them. So there is something extremely poetic in the way he says “How time has flown” the second he gets his son in his arms again.

In the middle of Blade Breaker and like…. Erida is evil evil, isn’t she? I kept waiting for a moment where she’s like “psych I’m actually on the good guys side” but I’m beginning to think that’s never going to come.

Okay she’s officially passed that threshold of ever being able to redeem herself……. Definitely evil for sure

Everyone’s says “Wow, Kaz really fumbled the bag with the ‘I protect my investments’” like Inej didn’t mean a lot to him or something. But I feel like everyone is failing to remember that he cares the most about his investments!! Am I the only one that ever took that as him admitting how much she means to him? Think of the lengths he has gone through to secure his investments/assets?? And everyone’s just like “wow that guys a dick”???????

It’s very LOTR boys in the way they cry and hug and laugh together and I live for it.
