Potions wasnât Calâs strongest suit, but it also wasnât his downfall. Thankfully, his extensive knowledge of plants seemed to be his saving grace when it came to the class, as ingredients posed less of a challenge for him because of such a thing. His steady hand and nature were also helpful for the practice. âMiss Mallory,â he said with a little respectful incline of his head towards her, almost as if he were tipping a non-existent hat. âLooks like weâll be working together for this class. Have you mixed this one before?â he asked, squinting a little at the book. His reading was improving, thankfully.Â
He seemed cheerful enough. She wasnât sure how anyone was cheerful in such a world, but especially in potionâs class. She was pretty sure he wasnât even that good at it, though he was better than the student who accidentally exploded their hiccup solution. âNo,â She lied, a smile still fixed naturally to her face. âUnfortunately potions isnât my strong suit.â That was true, but she was miles beyond everyone in every subject as far as she was concerned. âBut Iâm sure weâll make it through.â
