Felicity had heard a few positive things about the Hufflepuff house, but Helga herself was a bigger target than she wanted to start with. In general Slytherins and Hufflepuffs didn’t get along, but ingratiating yourself with that house was the first step to being all the more effective. Could she have chosen her own house she would have chosen that one, even better to be closer to her target. But the hat had barely touched her head before declaring her place in Slytherin, how inconvenient.
Still, there was one woman she had heard only good things about. “Brigid Shacklebolt?” She said, smiling sweetly, “It is you!” She clutched her chest as though ecstatic to meet her, “I was sure it must be some mistake! You are the talk of Europe with your beautiful dresses! I must say it is a surprise to meet you here.” She covered her mouth, as though just realizing her rudeness, “Oh, I’m so sorry, you must forgive my rudeness. Felicity Mallory at your service.” She offered a hand to the other woman all doe-eyed sweetness.
