â#06 Ace Fact: Demisexual people donât think theyâre better than allosexuals. Not experiencing sexual arousal until I have a close, emotional bond isnât something I choose and doesnât mean I think Iâm better than other people. Itâs just how Iâm wired.â
â#07 Ace Fact: Demisexuality is different than being allosexual. Thereâs a difference between being sexually attracted to someone vs. wanting to have sex with them. Allosexuals can experience that attraction but can choose to wait; demisexuals just donât experience that attraction until thereâs a close, emotional bond.â
â#08 Ace Fact: Demisexual people still experience stigma like asexual people. Our relationship with asexuality is different, but we still experience stigma, alienation, and the messages that we are abnormal or broken. Itâs important for demisexual people to have a place in the ace community.â
â#09 Ace Fact: Demisexuals need a close, emotional bond to experience sexual attraction. This is based on our own personal experiences and is slightly different for everyone. Emotional intimacy is often a main component.â
â#10 Ace Fact: Gray-A is not the same as demisexual. Gray-A people donât normally experience sexual attraction, but they can sometimes and may or may not act on it, or only under limited/specific circumstances. This is different than demisexuals, who only experience sexual attraction after forming a close, emotional bond. Both are valid.â ]
