i am going to preface this by saying that i am TME and that i believe it is vitally important that trans women have their own language to express their experiences and challanges
i do want to ask my trans women followers specifically, about the specifics of TMA as a label. it was created with trans women in mind, to express the scrutiny theyre under to live up to ciscentric western beauty standards. trans women who are balding, who have lower voices, who are tall, who have different fat distribution, are constantly questioned and harrassed, forced to perform extreme levels of feminity that they may not be interested in such as shaving or voice training or facial feminization surgery or risk literal violence
with that being said, what is the concensus on. actually i just answered my own questions, athletes or butches or even just women of color who dont perform femininity to an acceptable standard, such as imane khelif are victims of sociatal transphobia and misognoir. but not specifically transmisogyny, because they are not trans women. different circumstances, same outcome, ultimately we are fighting adjacent battles to dismantle these structures but cis black women are not TMA, even when they are transvestigated.
crazy how talking to myself for a second made it click. anyway im still curious on what others have to say on the matter regarding intersectionality between trans women and brown women. i was gonna say racialized women but like, the way we treat east asian women vs african women is a canyon of difference, east asian more closely resemble the "ideal"
ADDITION: I completely forgot at the heart of the horrible way imane was treated is rooted in intersexism as well. while cis perisex women of color have been transvestigated, this cannot be overlooked as a factor in the vitriol she recieved
