i had to dig for this because scans of this are very hard to come by online (shoutout to @pitchforkred for uploading a full 72 page scan of the 2006 velvet boxset booklet a few years back, what an incredible resource) but here's gerard talking about the pool. i highly suggest reading the rest of the booklet, it's such an interesting look into where their heads were at while recording the black parade.

for all my criticism of the mcr fanbase i have to say the tumblr arm of it is doing some of the most thorough archival work i've ever seen done for a band outside of historians who get paid to specifically research the beatles
