I finished the audiobook of Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover today and it was SO MUCH CUTER THAN EXPECTED! I have been really skeptical about Colleen Hoover reads, being afraid they'll be nothing but spiciness, but this one was actually pretty mild for a book that's considered romance. I will say, the "college" romance trope does get annoying over time, not to mention unrealistic (do these people ever attend class or do homework?), but the story overall was cute in a bittersweet way. I read this book in just a few hours the other day. Fallout by Todd Strasser is based around the concept that the bomb was actually dropped and this kid and his family (and their neighbors) have to spend 2 weeks surviving underground in a fallout shelter. And, it also has a bit of an anti-racism undertone as well. I just finished reading Verity by Colleen Hoover yesterday and I FINALLY GET THE HYPE! This book kept me wondering and thinking the whole time. And after it's over, I STILL HAVE QUESTIONS! That being said, it's different from any other Colleen Hoover books I've read so far, but I definitely liked it that way. There are sex scenes, but that's not the point of the book. They're there to tell the story and make you feel upset about different characters. Amazing book!
