It turns out if you do populist shit and blame the Jews you will be richly rewarded and famous. This is as true now as it was in the 1930s. You can sell out every principle you may or may not have had, blame the Jews, point impressionable losers at the Jews, and continue to get fame and money.
Father Charles Coughlin was a 'viral' celebrity of the new media in the 1930s. He started had a radio show and a magazine called "Social Justice" in which he repeatedly blamed the Jews for the woes of the great depression, became obsessed with Jewish-originated Communism and praised authoritarian and fascist governments.
Charles Coughlinβs baritone voice and his ability to summarize complex issues into what he called βthe language of the man-in-the-streetβ made his radio show, The Golden Hour of the Little Flower, popular nationwide, even among non-Catholics. The show was named after his church, The Shrine of the Little Flower, and he called its listeners his βradio congregation.β

Father Charles Coughlin, was a Canadian-born Catholic priest assigned to a parish in Michigan. Coughlin was antisemitic, anti-Communist, and isolationist. Throughout the 1930s, he was one of the most influential men in the United States. A new post office was constructed in his Michigan town just to process the letters that he received each weekβ80,000 on average. The audience of his weekly radio broadcasts was in the tens of millions, and his journal Social Justice eventually reached one million subscribers. By the mid-1930s, Coughlin had become a vocal critic of the Roosevelt administration, and he attacked Jews explicitly in his broadcasts. In the days and weeks after Kristallnacht, Coughlin defended the state-sponsored violence of the Nazi regime, arguing that Kristallnacht was justified as retaliation for Jewish persecution of Christians. He explained to his listeners on November 20, 1938, that the βcommunistic government of Russia,β βthe Lenins and Trotskys,β¦atheistic Jews and Gentilesβ had murdered more than 20 million Christians and had stolen β40 billion [dollars]β¦of Christian property.β Following this broadcast, several radio stations refused to broadcast his program without pre-approved scripts. A few stations in New York cancelled his programs. By the late 1930s, Coughlin began to promote fascist dictatorship and authoritarian government as the only cure to the ills of democracy and capitalism. The Roosevelt administration decided that, because the radio spectrum was a "limited national resource" and regulated as a publicly owned commons, broadcasting was not afforded full protections under the First Amendment. In October 1939, the Code Committee of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) enacted new limitations on the sale of radio time to 'spokesmen of controversial public issues.' Manuscripts now had to be submitted in advance, and radio stations were threatened with the loss of licenses if they failed to comply. As a result, on September 23, 1940, Coughlin announced in Social Justice that he had been forced from the air.

Although it had already been proven to be a hoax, Coughlin published The Protocols of the Elders of Zionβan antisemitic pamphlet purportedly providing evidence of an international Jewish conspiracy to control the worldβin multiple issues of Social Justice in 1938. A public outcry ensued, but Coughlin defended his choice in an editorial: βWhen we resume printing the Protocols we are not attributing them to the Jews. And Coughlin is, sadly, particularly informative because there are now a whole bunch of famous, petty, and middling Charles Coughlins and they want your money and your support and they don't care how many murders they incite to get it.
