Kale Vandelay in my Hi Fi Kinetics AU

Also inspired by the style of the F1 race president for McLaren, cause i feel like Kale would love a McLaren.

Vandelay tower is actually impressive

I wanna talk about how freaking HUGE Vandelay tower is, like seriously, this thing is like on par with the World Marshal building from Metal gear rising, dont even get me started on the size of the atrium with that giant kale statue. I think this is about as many floors as there are at least.

Kale's office is likely on the top floor, hes the big boss of course and because in this scene when they jump out his office window you can see a little aviation obstruction lighting-thingy, (the red bulb on the top right there), it keeps low flying planes from flying too close to skyscrapers in cities, or satellite towers in rural areas, and there are a few on Vandelay tower, granted I dont know how anyone could miss that thing when its lit-up.

Anyway, point is how the heck did the band survive this fall towards the spectra building and how is there even more construction still being done on it, and what does it mostly consist of, I mean we see offices, a cafeteria, the atrium, and all are styled to seem visually appealing to the Project Armstrong customers, so perhaps theres more, cafés perhaps as kale mentioned previously, or a gift shop. Seriously theres so much stuff you could throw in there with all that room.

The best part about this is that there's more to the building than Kale's office, which perhaps could just be utility stuff but who knows 😭😭

@arkadi-jones YOOOOO, I DIDNT EVEN NOTICE THAT! I thought kale was at the very top but he ain't even close to the top floor, like- theres freaking more?! How much more do you need?, the production building is separate so it cant be anything like that taking up space. Theres gotta be some funny crap in there like a burger king or smth or a bowling alley, something useless that kale or the other higher ups threw in just to eat up some of the budget.

Something I do find interesting is the fact that Peppermint and Kale lack the accent Roxanne has. While it can be explained by those two being played by white VAs, I like to think that it further reinforces the wedge between Roxanne and her kids.

It's safe to assume that neither Peppermint nor Kale were born and raised in Roxanne's home country, and that they were born in Vandelay Island (though maybe Kale was born there but raised elsewhere it doesn't matter though). As a result, it makes sense that the kids don't share the same accent, they probably don't share the same culture. You could even argue that Roxanne represents the collective whilst Peppermint represents the individualistic. Running away from the family was a selfish choice on Peppermint's part, but how could she find herself and flourish if someone else built her path, even though they had good intentions? By the end of the game, they reunite and learn to balance each other's extremes.

Bearing in mind the fact that people under SPECTRA's influence are conscious throughout, it's also likely Roxanne learnt how extreme her views were upon witnessing Kale do All That. Kale valued the Vandelay name above anything else, he wanted the Vandelay name to be successful. Hell, you could argue he's like that cause growing up everything was about Vandelay Technologies. Roxanne's actions are unintentional - she had both of their interests at heart - but the difference in their culture and views (alongside other factors) drove them all apart.

Chai as a boss fight

This random ramble is dedicated to @dominusfero because i absolutely adore your concepts with all my heart, and was inspired by your hi fi rush horror Au. Chai genuinely would have gone so hard as a surprise boss fight, like had kale been given enough time to plan, i assume he could have put chai to use immediately and put the poor guy against the band as soon as spectra got a hold on him. Imagine playing as 808 against a now brainwashed Chai, even worse when you account for the movesets you can unlock, upgrades, and chips. Chai would actually be horrifying to play against, not only in how fast and unpredictable he is, but also for poor 808 since spectra took out his mp3 player, and she would no longer be able to anticipate what chai is going to during the fight, she's flying blind. Nevermind the fact that she now is fighting her new bestie, and poor Chai, if he can think clearly while under control, probably is not wanting to do this to poor 808 and his friends.
