Genuinely one of the most boring films I’ve ever watched. I got two hours in and decided “yep, imma head out”. Apparently it gets better in the last hour, but I don’t think it’s worth my time if it’s so shite after the first two.
There were a few interesting moments - Min-Min saying that she’s done nothing with her life so she has nothing to say to her mother who’s in a coma, for example. I weirdly related to it because sometimes I feel like I’m doing nothing with my own life.
There weren’t many other stand out moments to me, now that I think about it. I felt sorry for Yang-Yang. Being picked on by the girls in his class and his teacher. But there wasn’t much else that was compelling.
This was the funniest film I’ve watched in ages! A brilliant way to end the month. Especially after the previous disappointment. It had some strangely profound moments, too.
Even though it was weird as shit, the plot was solid. The plot actually made sense and the characters are more complex than they make themselves out to be. The fashion wasn’t awful, either - comical but still had taste.
Admittedly, there isn’t much to say about this film because it’s not very deep and I didn’t hate it.
