Transformers: Toku

Yeaaaah, that one shot of the three “initial” forms of “OPTIMUS” were due for a bit of an update…so here we are! 

From left to right, we have Elite (Ariel’s “debut” form as Optimus), Base/Transient (the “blink and you’ll miss it” appearance as Matrix handles are swapped out, basically the weakest possible form of “Optimus” only accessible by taking a bit too long to make the aforementioned form swap), Prime (Orion’s form/the “true default” form) and Delta (Dion’s premiere form). 

What’s a magical girl without a villain? Or a handful of them, at least…

It occurred to me, that if I were to name all the heroes after Metrotitans/Cities, it would only be fair to have the villains follow the same pattern…and there’s already a handy dandy group in the Transformers universe to use, when it comes to that.

Tarn is greedy, driven by a cursed mask to accumulate power, to seek glory and strength and drain cities and the very planet itself of power to do so, at any cost. He’s ostentatious, overly dramatic and verbose, and cruel. And he is the greatest enemy of Caminus.

Windblade has wracked her processor ever since encountering him, of who this devilish enemy could possibly be when he’s not enacting evil plans or having his Justice Division fight her and her friends.

Fellow student Damus is small, unassuming, and shy. Quiet, and restrained, and watching from afar.

Listen…consider, just, I’m begging you, consider how much I love Minimus Ambus for a hot second here. and Dominus. and Ultra Magnus. Anyways in the one AU uhhhhh he’s….he’s there. As is his brother, Dominus. And his HUGE conjux, Ultra Magnus. It’s excellent.

So a bunch of this Minimus and Magnus, some Dominus, Turbofoxes, and an alternate techno-organic design for Mins!

Dominus gave Minimus endless shit when he and Ulutra Magnus started dating, as was his divine right as brother.

More TF: Toku sketches as I’m basically just clearing out some big artdumps while I have motivation to do so. TF: Toku is made with @drawma-king, who supplies more of the tokuketsu inspiration while I just endlessly throw characters out here because nobody can stop me!!!!

Minimus’ preferred weapon: Judicator’s Hammer (rocket propelled) because why the hell not?

Now that @thenamesblurrito has their Transformers: SNAP AU stuff up…time to post crossover doodles between TF: SNAP and mine and @drawma-king‘s TF: Toku AUs! Both involve kids transforming into awesome heroes to fight the forces of evil!

SNAP!Ariel invites Toku!Ariel on a lovely outing, because they deserve a girl’s day.

Awkward little SNAP!Minimus does not know how to interact with his… doppelganger? Doppelgangers??? Meanwhile, the adults are concerned that this factionless, weaponless, almost familyless child has let slip that he’s regularly going to war.

Toku!Starscream is a wonderful father, if by wonderful you mean will absolutely teach you how to destroy your enemies and laugh about it. He wasn’t quite prepared for SNAP!Starscream’s automatic fear response, which is to scream. Loudly. As loud as a certain superhero, in fact.

Right so, I noticed @agatharights has been pulling a lot of the weight with the “Rider” AU alone lately and I figured it was time to correct that with my own contribution. 

So here’s the Rider persona that each kid adopts in their respective flavors. Orion’s “Classic”, Dion’s “Powered” and Ariel’s “Elite” form. 

See, in this universe, Optimus is a long dead warrior spirit of ancient legend, now residing in the adaptational device known once as simply “the Matrix” (now nicknamed the “Optimizer” by our trio of heroes). 

Alternate “handles” can be slotted into the core piece to unlock different forms in combat, embedding into the chest of each “Optimus” guise as a protective layer for the user and an easily accessible source of additional power. Pair that with a nifty voice changer and an “overriding” frame to ensure anonymity and BAM, Cybertronian Henshin Hero. 

In another universe Orion might have grown into a seeker instead of a truck!

Did someone say….Magical Girl Windblade?!

Nobody said it but I deliver anyways. Also in production with @moontruffles! And also kinda @drawma-king! It’s complicated!

Windblade, unassuming student, is given a Cityspeaker’s Matrix of Power and becomes the magical warrior Caminus! As Caminus, she fights to protect Cybertron from threats, old and new, alongside her friends!

I guess I should introduce everyone to the actual main cast of TF: Toku, shouldn’t I? Introducing TEAM OPTIMUS… Ariel, Dion, and Orion, the triple threat of young friends! Inseperable for years, these three have gotten through all kinds of thick and thin together, only to grow closer as they all share the mantle of the ancient, armored warrior Optimus, a mysterious figure of legend who shows up in dire times.

Probably for the best that nobody except these kids know that Optimus is just a series of armors and ancient primal relics used to superpower the wielders. Like I’ve said- it’s basically Kamen Rider or Sailor Moon, when you get down to it.

Uhhhhhh AU rambling for the TF: Toku au I share with @drawma-king with very little context below whoop whoop

Transformers: Toku is where I wind up using a lot of good drama feels re: Megatron, Starscream, and Orion. For those who’d like a refresher, there’s stuff here and there and over here and whatnot. (i highly suggest the links)The short version is that Orion is actually the lost child of Megatron and Starscream (given name, Guiltaur, though as you can see there were other names considered, mostly for fun), who supposedly died but was taken in by the Autobots and raised by the Order of Pax.

The loss of Guiltaur marked a turning point in the Decepticon’s growing empire, which kicked the war up to new heights for a time, and it weighed heavily on the leaders- which made it all the more strange for everyone involved when it was found out that their child was still alive- raised amongst Autobots. It’s. Very weird, since by that point Megatron and Starscream had kind of willfully lost their plans to handle a kid? It’s complicated.

Starscream takes it particularly hard. Especially when Orion escapes back to the Autobots and makes it pretty clear he was never going to be persuaded to stay. It leads to overusing some particularly devastating abilities.

The interdimensional superhero kids homework club from this post has been expanded a bit! What do you do when a tiny tot from another universe consumes all of your work? Panic, mostly.

Windblade from @transformersreversal might not be a superhero exactly, but she sure does help save the world, but didn’t manage to save her assignments. Hot Shot from @autoacafiles thinks this black slime could just be a talent, like his pyrokinesis, but good on him for checking anyway! Orion from the Toku AU created by @agatharights and @drawma-king can tug as hard as he wants, he’s not gonna get that datapad back. SNAP!Orion is at least trying to defend their lack of homework.
