this is my take on one of the other mining teams! perceptor's their captain (like elita), though that doesn't do much for the amount of trouble they get into HAHA

here are their badge ranks (based off the movie + my hcs): Perceptor - rank 8+ (Captain) Ratchet - rank 7 Grapple - rank 5 Prowl - rank 5 Blaster - rank 4 Moonracer - rank 4 Red Alert - rank 4 Smokescreen - rank 3 Sunstreaker - rank 3 Brainstorm - rank 2 blaster's got the most extensive comms range + fine-tuned sensors out of any of them, so usually he's the one assigned to pulling smokescreen and prowl out of trouble if they accidentally trigger an explosion. prowl's getting sick of third-wheeling him and smokey (as if prowl and jazz aren't significantly worse LMAO)

brainstorm is... brainstorm. wheeljack's experiments tend to blow up in his face, but brainstorm's a much, much worse case in that regard. only reason he's not rank 1 like orion is because perceptor has a soft spot for him (unfortunately). moonracer thinks his experiments are funny. the two of them are very much gossip girls

sunstreaker hates it here. the mines are a hellscape for a guy who tries to keep his armor as polished as he can, and being assigned to a team that is regularly involved in cave-ins and explosions has him screaming to the rooftops sometimes. sideswipe thinks it's hilarious
