Something that is everywhere once you notice it and really colours how you see transmisogyny is people listing a bunch of terrible acts of violence done against transfems as evidence for transphobia, and then never asking why all of those were done against transfems specifically. Entire histories of transgender peoples have been written with lengthy and extended discussions of brutal acts of violence directed against almost exclusively transfeminized people, which never ask why. Suzan Stryker, a trans women herself, did this in 2008, and it immediately became a classic, foundational text in transgender liberation. If we're supposed to be opposing transphobia, we should understand how it works, and as part of that, why it affects transfeminized people so strongly. If the goal of transandrobros was really to stop all transphobia, and not just anti-transmasculine transphobia, this question would be an important one, if the goal of cisfeminists was to abolish all oppression of the basis of Sexual Difference, to free all women, and not just cis women, then this question would be an important one. And yet they don't ask this question. They list, and they list, and they list, and they never ask why.

I wish I could've been a girl for longer. We transitioned a bit after our body's 18th birthday, which means we never really got a chance to be girl. Now our state has banned hrt for trans minors, denying that to everyone like us. I like being a woman, don't get me wrong, I just wish I could've been a girl too.

If you wonder why there are so many age reggressors in the transfem community, this is why. We have been systemically denied girlhood, and are doing all we can to reclaim it.

To transfems who are just beginning to transition: you are (probably) not butch. The fact that you still wear masculine clothing and still look in the mirror and see a guy does not make you butch, it makes you trans. If you hate how you look, if you hate your masculine features, you are dysphoric, not butch. I stress this not only because I want you to not get trapped trying to settle on aiming for a butch look, (which is much less attainable than you'd think for reasons I'll get to) I want you to go explore femininity in all of its pink frilly euphoria. You'll figure out your style in time, but not if you keep trying to settle on what you incorrectly feel is a more realistic goal. Butch fashion standards were not created for transfems. In fact they were created specifically to exclude you. Most of what being butch entails is having a "feminine body" (read: afab) in men's clothing. Butchness was invented to create an alternative for women to the demonized feminine modes of expressing themselves. It is fundamentally about women being anti-feminine. This can be liberatory for people who have femininity enforced upon them, but that is not you. You, early transition transfem, will be pressured to be butch, you will be pressured to be masculine, you will be pressured to do anything other than transition. You must resist that pressure. You must transition.

i think friendslop as a term is soooo fucking funny. ironically mildly derogatory term for something that's only good because you are just doing it to hang out with your friends. im not saying it's a misnomer or anything in fact i think we need to broaden the concept to apply to a lot of non video game stuff retroactively. bowling is highkey friendslop

there's a really fun balance when you know someone has a crush on you where you can tease them for having a crush on you without letting them know you know they have a crush on you. this only works because people who have crushes will analyze everything you say but not very well. anyway, i love playing with my food.
