I was working on this full swing when my father was struck and killed while riding his bike and it took me a long time to get back into working on it. I am also in the process of moving my family cross country back to our home state of Michigan and that caused some delays as well. While this didn’t turn out as I had originally envisioned (nothing I do ever does) I will say I’ve never felt a bigger sense of accomplishment on anything after all that I mentioned above. Having the ability to work creatively and “lose one’s self” in their work sure came into play with this piece. My father was always someone who encouraged me and thought the world of everything I created. While this is an odd piece to serve as a dedication (its a very odd movie after all) I will say that I dedicate the effort I put into creating this, to my father: Larry Paulik.
