we need to bring back the simple art of just “come to my house and we hang out without an activity or pretense or meal” my friend hung out on my couch for seven hours today we just gabbed… no specific plans no activities involved. likeee let’s just hang out on my couch forever and ever amen
you have fallen for AI before. even if you don’t believe you could ever fall for AI, you very more than likely have at this point. you have scrolled past an AI generated ad not realizing it was AI. you’ve seen a drawing online and thought “oh that looks cool,” not realizing it was not created a person. i’m not saying this to scare you, but i am saying it as a reminder that you are not immune to how realistic AI is becoming
Men made decisions to rape with fellow rapists. They decided sexual abuse and torture were bonding experiences.
Language matters. Stop removing men from their active role in raping children.
I just left a plantation tour in Louisiana. I have a lot to say…
SAY IT!
I honestly thought I knew everything about slavery. Not so.
The owner of this particular plantation had it built by slaves for 3 years. Every brick was handmade. Over 120,000 bricks on 2,000+ acres of land (this place was huge.) The clay used for the bricks came from the Mississippi River. The majority of the slaves are buried under the Levees and water. Some are buried with their Masters. Not allowed to live with them but could be dead with them.
Before you enter the house, there’s a list of slaves who lived here including their age and how much they were purchased for. 124 total. Some slaves were worth as little as $25. As young as 5 years old.
On this particular plantation, the owner was big on punishment…he used noise making neck restraints. Imagine three 4lb balls around your neck with bells inside. Children were restrained by ankle locks that connected between their ankles.
This was a sugar cane plantation, one the worst practices to involve slaves because of its danger. A lot of slaves were decapitated, amputees and killed from the fields and machinery. A lot of kids lost their lives creating sugar. Speaking of children, a child stood in the living room and operated the fan with a string while guests ate dinner. As young as 3 years old.
Here’s what shook me even further: Before the Civil War, a lot of slave owners were going in debt and could not afford their properties and were not producing enough cotton and sugar to maintain their lifestyles. Slaves were used as HUMAN CREDIT CARDS. Slaves were a guaranteed line of credit. You could get HALF of your property’s value depending on how many healthy and able slaves you owned.
My people were human credit cards and lines of credit to BANKS. We were property. We were labeled as equipment and nothing more.
There is no such thing as a good slave owner. They owned my PEOPLE and used them as checks and balances. This cycle continues with prison and brutality. I do not want to hear shit about “Why can only Black people say this or that?” I don’t want to hear shit about “we’re all human.”
And by the way, not one of those slaves are at rest. Those spirits were so alive, you could feel their presence, their pain and someday, their revenge.
The front of the house and yard. This plantation was huge. Just thinking about my ancestors tending to all this land…
SOME of the enslaved names, ages, race and purchase price.
The living room.
Interior.
The dining room. That piece hanging above the table is ORIGINAL to the house. That’s the fan that a slave as young as 3 years old had to operate manually with a string.
The view from the balcony in the main hallway. This is how they looked over the slaves while they worked in the yard.
*sigh* Names of the enslaved that occupied the shacks. Children included. Their names are written inside one of the shacks. I’m not sure if there are other names inside other shacks because I could only handle 2. After I saw the punishment equipment, I left.
Slave Shacks. These are NOT the original shacks. These were built to imitate them.
Slaves for Sale Ads.
The landscape of Slavery throughout the United States in 1860. JUST 1860. Let that sink in.
Note: The last time the home was OWNED by a Louisiana citizen was 1972. This is her original bedroom, her lipstick is STILL on the dresser. This is why the house has been updated since slavery times because it was occupied up until 1972. Regardless, this used to be where house slaves slept.
This really fuckin happened, don’t let white people tell you that it’s in the past & to let it go.
every first hand account of chattel slavery I’ve ever read is more horrifying than any dystopia that has ever been dreamt up in fiction.

There should definitely be more queer media, don’t get me wrong, but I fear a lot of white western sapphics are underselling how much wlw media there is because they’re not willing to consume media that doesn’t have white leads or is in any language other than English. Thailand is pumping GLs out constantly. There’s a main lesbian couple on the biggest Brazilian telenovela airing right now. You’ll have plenty of sapphic media on your plate as long as you read subtitles. Hollywood isn’t the only place where movies/shows are made.
The Creature calling itself Viktor and following Viktor around is so much more tragic when you know how babies develop and how newborns don't yet realise they and their mothers are two separate people. And one of the first things babies realise about themselves is that they're a whole separate person. And one of the first things they do when they start developing as a person is find out they have hands and play with them and with textures and start exploring. And when they want to start talking, they put their hands and fingers on their parents lips and throats to figure out how that sound is coming out of there and then they start imitating. Guillermo Del Toro nailed every single step of human development in such a beautiful celebration of life.
And Viktor abused the crap out of the poor creature for not being smart enough when it was only following natural developmental milestones. Because, like most men, like his own father, he wanted to create life but he wasn't interested in raising it beyond that and instead wanted it to be born a doctor ready to show the world how smart Viktor is for creating a carbon copy of his brain except in a stronger immortal body. Elizabeth gave him five minutes of love and let him explore how sounds come out of her mouth and he started talking.
Idk why some people are complaining about the movie being different from the book when the essence is literally the same, Viktor created life as if it were a godly feat and not something women have been doing since the dawn of humanity, and then he abandoned that life as deadbeat dads do. And that abandonment is what created a monster out of an innocent souls who could have become a beautiful being had it been nurtured. That's literally what Mary Shelley wrote. She would have been proud of this story. On top of being an incredibly gorgeous visual story, the narrative is very loyal to the point Shelley wanted to make.

It always shocks me when I bring up trans men’s issues - specially issues common in the south/more conservative/rural areas - to someone who makes their whole thing being a ‘trans advocate’ and they just don’t know what I’m talking about .
I mentioned how common it is - especially in more conservative Christian places - for trans men to be set up with a husband by their family and then be forcibly impregnated as a way to make them detransition to someone who runs a whole blog about ‘spreading awareness about trans issues’ and she looked at me like I was crazy and said “woah I never knew that happened to trans men.”
She knew about and understood that that stuff happens to cis women, but she never thought it happened to trans men… like come on.
Many years ago I tried to talk online about how often the partners or friends of trans men and transmasc people would try to get them pregnant to derail/slow/stop their transition if they didn't approve of some aspect of their transitioning - Both in the sense of medical transition (Because if you're pregnant, you're usually told to stop taking T, and you can't get top or bottom surgery while you're pregnant) and social transition (because, especially early in transition when a lad might not have much facial hair yet, a visible pregnancy belly and bigger breasts is feminising in the eyes of onlookers).
In response I was told that this was dysphoria talking, that this having happened to one of my friends in the past was just a weird one-off accident, absolutely nobody's fault and definitely not a predictable pattern of abuse or a conscious act by his partner! Anyway, eight years later, I've heard of the same thing happening to six more people that are either my own friends or friends-of-friends, and the partner of the original example proudly admits to sabotaging his birth control because "It was worth it to have our daughter".

Asexuality and Coercive Sex
So coercive sex/corrective rape is a very common experience for ace people. Like, so common that it's normalised, 'that's-just-how-things-are-in-a-relationship-what-are-you-complaining-about', probably even by the ace person themselves. Probably for years. They might be proscribed medication so they can be 'normal' about someone doing sex to them.
And there are also all sorts of unhelpful cultural and religious attitudes that encourage this, most of which I can't speak to beyond basic western heteronormative assumptions of 'get married, have children' and 'sex = penetration, anything else is teasing'. But I know that coercive marriage is a thing. Coercive 'relationship maintenance' is definitely a thing. Coercive pregnancy is a thing.
I'm calling it rape because both participants know that the ace person doesn't want to do it, that they've been coerced into it, but the other person still makes them do it. It probably isn't dramatic or violent (though it might be), so it may take the ace person years to realise why they freak out if someone touches them or flirts with them.
And I'm calling it 'corrective' because society conditions us to go along with the idea that regular penetrative sex is what everyone should be having, and not wanting that means there's something wrong with you. Something that needs to be corrected. And people do honestly believe that once the ace person conforms to having 'normal sex' they'll be much happier.
I wonder how many ace people (a whole lot of whom are neurodivergent) get adept at faking this whole aspect of their 'romantic' relationship.

"I know chatgpt is bad but you just don't really have any choice" you literally do. Don't use it. Have some moral backbone.
it's been like 2 years. i havent touched it. never needed to. "you don't really have a choice," are you so swift to forget the recent past? Bitch i still use itunes to download mp3s to so i have them forever and any song i want, then my sister burns them to CDs. When boycotts rolled out my other sister got no thanks to scan what products we shouldn't buy. i still use corded headphones not because "its older" but because it's easier. a fool criticizes those who buy candles 200 years after the invention of the electric light until the power goes out. become ungovernable. you are not immune to propaganda. you've never had Chatgpt forced upon you, the only thing forced upon you is the idea that Chatgpt is forced upon you. why claim you need something today that you didn't need yesterday. little bitch.

Cis men are trying to deflect and deny their manifest sexual abuse of women by creating the fictional 'trans women offender'.
Don't trust cis rape culture to protect women.
More proof that capitalism was never "freedom" or "small government".
