Writer's Introduction
Hello, My account isn't very new, but I am trying to be more active on here. I am Dustin I am an aspiring writer, my current genres are Fantasy and Sci-Fi, I have been developing my craft for a year, but writing stories since I was five years old, it was mostly fanfiction back then, lol.
About me
Iβm a 26-year-old college student, writer, and aspiring storyteller. I have Aspergerβs Syndrome. When Iβm not busy with school assignments, Iβm juggling two part-time jobs, taking care of my dog, and my parents at home, or working security at my church.
Writing is my passion, and Iβm currently developing several projects, including an epic fantasy series, a superhero series, and short stories for my main blog, Talespinnerβs Ink on blogger. My blog features original tales, DnD-inspired stories, and poetry influenced by Psalms, Proverbs, and one by 1 Kings 19. Iβm also working on launching a podcast to bring my stories to life through dramatic audio renditions which should be out mid-July.
Outside of writing, Iβm an Eagle Scout and have a background in survival training and martial arts. Iβm always striving to grow as a storyteller and connect with others in the writing community, so if you have any feedback or advice, let me know.
If youβre passionate about storytelling, fantasy, or writing in general, Iβd love to connect!
Upcoming Projects
I have several exciting projects in the works and want to share updates on whatβs coming to the blog over the next few months. Hereβs what to expect:
Mage Slayer Series Part 5: Set to release March 4, 2025 (if I manage to get everything together for this installment).
Biblical Stories Suffering Servant: Coming February 4, 2025. This is a standalone story about a young Jesus.
Blood Covenant: Legacy of the king: In the third century Rome, when the Jews were being persecuted for their heritage and Christians told to distance themselves from the Jews one boy Lucious Petrus would discover a secret hidden by the church that would shake the foundation of Rome itself.
Projects Without Set Release Dates
Tera Panthera An action-packed tale of anthropomorphic lion gladiators. In this world, wars are decided in the arena through gladiatorial combat between kings. The story follows Kion, the son of a defeated king, as he challenges this brutal tradition and fights to end the cycle of violence.
Blessed Child This trilogy follows Abner, the red-haired ancestor of the Yahra'Haba people. Abandoned by his tribe due to superstition, he is raised by panthers and later called by Eloh (God) to challenge his people's elders, offering them a chance to return to the truth.
Synthetic Souls: The Emulate Paradox A sci-fi story set in a world with robot police and human-AI hybrid programs that promise immortality, but only reward death! The protagonist, Benjamin Carter, uncovers a dark secret at Imortex that forces him to question his reality.
Future Releases
Confessions of a Time-Traveling Serial Killer This story is slated for publication in the Badelynge Review (tentatively May 2025). I plan to release it on the blog after its debut in the magazine.
Books
Time-Travel Romance Inspired by Vikings, this story follows William Norman, a descendant of Rolf of Normandy, who is accidentally transported to the Viking Age. With awkward charm, he helps Rolf navigate courtship and politics, ensuring history stays on course. I am also working on a teaser poem based on the traditional Viking style, written from Rolloβs perspective.
My Epic Fantasy Series
The cornerstone of my writing, this epic fantasy series is still years away (expect the first book in about five years). The story centers on Ari Griff Yahra'Aslan Cameron, a young man born of a political marriage, who must navigate the conflicting loyalties of his dual heritage and lead his people against the oppressive Septuni Imperium.
Side Projects
Cult Hunter A thrilling series about a government agent who infiltrates and takes down dangerous cults.
Purpose I enjoy writing stories full of action and violence. While the characters may not seem "Christ-like" on the surface, the underlying messages are deeply biblical and explore themes of redemption, justice, and faith.
What I am looking for:
I am looking for feedback on my work because I want to improve, myself as a storyteller, I will be writing and scheduling my main stories ahead of time to drop automatically throughout the next eight weeks of my semester because I want to keep the blog I started growing. On tumblr, I will be posting different writing exercises that I will do throughout the semester to improve my writing style and voice, as well as activities that me and my creative writing club will be doing on Thursdays.
Thank you for your time,
Dustin T. A. Cooley
