yue qingyuan is liu qingge’s ideal type: incredibly strong, reliable, charismatic, and really talented with the sword. shen qingqiu (jiu), on the other hand, is everything liu qingge hates in a person: he’s dishonest, self-serving, and uses underhanded methods to get what he wants. for some reason beyond liu qingge’s comprehension, these two are now cultivation partners. it works, somehow. the two of them are the happiest he’s seen them since— well, since ever.
the last thing thing he wants to do to cause a rift in their relationship. he’s always been more into night hunts and sparring than interpersonal drama. unfortunately for him, life has given him the short end of the stick this time. despite his best efforts, liu qingge ends up falling head over heels for both of them.
to make matters worse, the second he tries to distance himself is the second shen qingqiu’s slender fingers are wrapped tight around his wrist, nails digging into his skin— an action that borders on possessive. he tries to take on a longer mission and yue qingyuan rejects his request, claiming that he’s actually needed at the sect but never gives him a clear reason why.
he realizes his affections aren’t going away any time soon once he’s invited to spar with both of them and yue qingyuan pins him to the ground with ease, shen qingqiu watching the two of them like a cat that got the cream. his ears are flushed a bright red at their attention. he can’t form a single coherent thought, much less sentence, when both pairs of eyes are watching him so closely.
