Song: We All Die Young by Steel Dragon (Rock Star movie soundtrack) + Captain Canary
Alright, so this was more of a challenge, but Iâm happy with the result.
âI canât believe Iâm actually going to see Steel Dragonin concert.â Raymond is almost bouncing at her side as they maneuver their wayinto the packed concert area.
âJust remember to keep a watch for whatever caught Gideonâsattention.â She replies, eyes scanning the crowd.
âIâm surprised you didnât bring Snart,â he puts his handsup, âNot that Iâm complaining.â
âHe was firm about not coming; then again large groups ofnoisy, sweaty people arenât his favorite thing.â She replies. To be fair, itâsnot hers either, not anymore. But at least itâs an outdoor concert, so she canhang in the back while Ray gets closer to enjoy the show.
The band comes out, screams erupting and the equivalent ofhuge sparklers going off on the stage. She watches with mild interest as theband plays; until a shadowed shape darting in and out of the edge of the crowdcatches her eye. She moves quietly, grabbing the wrist of the small figure ashe slips by. âAnd just where do you think youâre going with that?â she motionsto the wallet currently held in his hand.
âNone of your business,â the slight drawl startles her,and she knocks the hoodie back from his face. Heâs young, maybe mid-teens, butSara would know those eyes anywhere. She bites back his name, instead takingthe wallet with her free hand before releasing him.
âYouâd be better grabbing wallets at the bar,â shemotions with her head, âThese people have spent most of their cash.â She reachesinto her pocket, pulling out what little money sheâd brought. âHere,â
âI donât want your pity,â he snaps.
âIâm trying to keep you from getting arrested,â sheretorts, following it with a sigh. âLook, security has seen us at this point.â Shemotions slightly to her right. âTake the money and go,â
He frowns, that same calculating stare sheâs seen so manytimes before. âWhy?â
She holds the cash out again. âBecause I know what itâslike to be in a tight spot.â As his hand touches hers she smiles, giving it aslight squeeze. âAnd even though it doesnât seem like it now, the future getsbetter.â
He scoffs, âNot for people like me.â
She smirks, âEspecially for people like you,â she motionstoward the nearby buildings, âNow go on,â
The younger Leonard turns, shaking his head beforeslipping away in the darkness. She reaches up to her headset, âRay, you findanything?â
âNo,â she winces at his volume. âMaybe Gideon misreadsomething?â
âMaybe,â Sara looked off to where her future love had disappeared.âEither way Iâm going to head back.â
âMind if I stay? You know, just to make sure?â
She chuckles, âGo ahead, enjoy the concert Ray.â Sheturns off her com, making her way back to the Waverider. She heads for the showerfirst thing, finding Len sitting on the bed when she comes out. âYou knew didnâtyou?â
He nods, âAs soon as I realized where we were.â
âWhy didnât you say something before?â she asks, movingto sit at his side.
âI didnât realize it was you until now,â he shrugs, âTheconcert was dark, and even my memory isnât perfect. But the memory stuck withme, a kind stranger was a rare occurrence in my life.â
She looks at him, sadness in her eyes. âI wish Iâd hadmore to give you.â
He shakes his head, âNo, you kept me from having tooutrun security.â  reaching up he pushes hairbehind her ear, almost smiling, âAnd Lisaâs grin when she saw the little cakewas worth more than gold.â He lays his hand over hers.
âGood,â she lays her head on his shoulder, fingerslinking with his. âYou were a pretty cute kid by the way.â
