12 âNone of that matters now.â Brotp young Rory & Snart. I feel like I can just hear an angry Snart shouting that in the middle of a heist gone south.
Okay, so for the sake of this story Leonard and Mick are early twenties (which makes Lisa 10-12 I think?)I had a lot of fun writing this one, hopefully it doesnât dissapoint
Leonard and Rory - BrotpSnart siblings
âMick!âLeonard shouts, slamming the metal door behind him before jimmying it with abroom and crowbar. The alarms ringing in his ears, another quick glance to hiswatch. âWeâve got a minute and ten seconds before the cops pull up.â
Theother young man rounded the corner, manic grin still in place. âEmergency doorsare all blocked,â
âGood,âhe motioned them down a hall, easily scaling a shelf of supplies and pulling ascrewdriver from his pocket. âWeâll have four, maybe five minutes before thecops figure out whatâs happened.â He works quickly, pulling a vent cover offbefore offering a hand and hoisting Mick up at his side.
Theymove with relative silence through the ventilation, Leonard occasionallymotioning a stop when he can see there are cops in the room below. He easilyflips the outer vent cover, easing it down. âI didnât think we planned ongetting out this way?â Mick asked as he climbed into the grass.
âDidnât,âLen offers a sharp look, âBut you should always have a plan B.â he motionedwith his head toward the brush, âCome on, we arenât safe yet.â Several detours laterheâs tossing a duffle toward the larger boy. âChange, thereâs a shirt and pantsyour size.â
Mickopens the bag, pulling his face back in disgust. âThey stink,â
âItâs cologne, youâll live.â He pulls the new shirt over his head. âIf they have a K-9 unityouâll thank me.â He adds, tossing his previous outfit into one of the bushes.Mick follows suit and soon they are at the back door of the ragged houseLeonard calls home. He knocks, a pattern he and Lisa agreed on earlier thatday.
Sheopens the door, young face lighting with relief. âLenny!â she wraps her armsaround his waist tightly, then pulls back with her nose scrunched up, âYousmell like dad when he forgets to shower.â
âMhm,âhe nods, motioning Mick into the house. âChange of clothes in the bathroom,âOnce the other boy is gone Leonard bends down to eye level with her. âYou okay?â
Shenods, âDoors all stayed locked like you said, no one came looking.â Shemotioned to the counter, âI made cookies for you and Mick,â she smiled.
Hesmiled back, pressing a gentle kiss to her crown. âCookies sound amazing Sis.âHe rose, motioning to himself, âBut first Iâm going to change.â
Shenods, making her way to the kitchen while Leonard moves through the house. Themoment Mick opens the bathroom door Leonard shoves him inside, closing the doorwith his foot. âWhat happened out there?â he hissed.
âWhatare you talking about?â Mick scoffed.
Therewas fury pouring from the smaller boy as he grabbed Mickâs shirt, but his voiceremained low. âYou lost focus, you set of smoke detectors and you cost us ourscore!â
Mickshrugged out of his grip, âSo? We go back, not like they saw our faces. âSides,âhe pulled a small gem from his pocket, âWasnât completely useless.â
âNoneof that matters now,â Len snarls, knocking the small gem to the ground. âMuseumwill be even more guarded, and no one will buy an item that hot for months.â Heran a hand over his head, pacing the small space, âI needed that money Mick,âhe turned, desperation in his gaze. âHow am I supposed to tell Lisa we donâthave money for food?â
Mick softenedslightly, âHere,â he reached into an inner pocket, pulling out a couple rollsof cash and setting them on the sink. Leonard looked from the money, then backto Mick with surprise. He just shrugged, âpopped open the registers while youwere playing with the security system.â He picked the gem up, holding itbetween them. âWhen you can sell this, itâs 25/75. Got it?â
Leonardsmirks, offering his hand. âDeal.â They shake on it, then Len motions backtoward the kitchen. âLisa is waiting with a plate of, likely burnt, cookies.â
Mickgrins, âJust how I like them.â Brushing past the other boy and making his waythrough the house.
Lengrabs the money, flipping through it on the way to his room. Nowhere near whathe could of made with his intended target, but enough to sustain them a monthor so. It would do. He hides the money beneath a false floorboard, then runsthrough the shower before changing into his own clothes and going to join theother pair in the kitchen.
