This is a really fun Flashcold fic called Tumbling Together by Redhead or @coldtomyflash on here with a βand they were neighbours' trope. I hadn't read this in ages but after I had done the cover for love me, I was thinking back on which Flash fics I really enjoyed and looked at my bookmarks for the pairing. This is one of the ones that came up and as soon as i remembered it i knew i wanted it to be two doors as the cover.
I looked for some door vectors and found a friend's TV series bookmark image with the door on it that I liked so I copied it over and removed the background. I changed the colours and had a blue one and a red one, checked the story for any door numbers (found Barry's but not Lens so made a 50/50 guess) and then played around with the background. I found a wooden floor and partial wall element I copied, flipped and continued multiple times to make the wooden floor. I added a huge rectangle over the top for the wall, placed the doors at the front and then started adding to them. I added the gold numbers which are actual door number photos with the backgrounds removed and lighting for Barry and snowflakes for Len.
I fiddles around until I found versions I liked and the locations I wanted them. For the titleβ¦I'm not really super happy with it. I like the little shadows I made of flash and Cold but i dont think I like the font. I just don't know how I would change it but likely will in future. I then added in the summary to the back but nothing else as I wanted to keep it simple. I like the idea of using the doors as the chapter page images as well, maybe changing the door numbers to show the chapter number.
This took about 36 minutes to make in canva.
I went back to make some additional images for the chapters but ended up fiddling with the cover as well. I added in slight shadows at the bottom of the two doors and made an outer border for the two doors ( took a while to make correctly using a lot of copy and paste). I did also add a crack to the wall but I'm not sure if I want to add more to the back cover or if I like keeping it super simple. I do like the cover changes though as I think it makes it look a bit more polished.
