I have the speech memorized too haha. I had to read Hamlet for school but I memorized the speech for literally no reason.
Hamlet was like the one Big Shakespeare Play™ I didn’t have to read for school...... I had a college teacher who was like obsessed with the idea of Teenaged!Hamlet and would always argue that the actors they cast for him are way too old, but he never actually made us read it because it wasn’t pertinent to the class subject (I think it was like a focus on the supernatural? We read like Dorian Gray and Midsummer’s Night Dream etc etc)
I memorized the speech for one reason, and that reason was to be Extra™. I was like, “everyone always just says ‘to be or not to be, that is the question’ but WHAT IF the next time someone said that around me I just full on started reciting the rest of it”
Like.... that should tell you how annoying a person I am lmao
