💜(Character specific)- Is this character open and proud about their true self, or are they closeted? Or somewhere in between?

Windfur is comfortable being a tom, but truth is that he doesn't really think all that deeply about his sexual identity. Windfur is grey-asexual, but he doesn't know that's what he is. I mean, why would he, when he's got significantly better things to worry about? But on occasion he does feel a bit strange if he thinks about it. When he was young, he was told he wouldn't have to worry about finding a mate or having kits for a long time. And now, he was sort of given the option to just...not have a mate or kits. At all, really. Redstar would prefer all parents are willing parents. He agrees with that notion. But...well, it's strange. A mate sounds nice, but what's he looking for? Barleywave and Riversnow, and Hopechase and Iciclepool - they all act just a certain way that seems really vulnerable, and he's not sure he can give that.

Well, he's still young...maybe one day he'll feel the..."je ne sais quoi" that cats keep talking about when it comes to mates.

They are kinda awkward indeed! But they're not annoyed by each other, just sort of. High trust, low platonic like, a bit of dislike, kinda scenario.

Redstar associates Windfur a lot to his father, Lucifer. Lucifer was her rock, back when he lived in ForestClan as Ferncreek. Sure, there was Iciclepool and Hopechase, but Ferncreek pushed action, even if your heart wasn't in it. If Hopechase was the emotional center of the group, Ferncreek was the call to action, regardless of your emotions. "I'm dragging you out of this den. Follow me. We're going on patrol now." Redstar came to view Windkit - and then Windpaw - as a future for ForestClan once she became leader.

Except Windpaw bonded with Chicoryglint instead, and became nervous and picked up a lot of her behaviors, instead of becoming like Lucifer. Yes, Windfur was his own person, that was not fair to him to think otherwise. But Redstar still misses Lucifer, and wishes she saw more of him in Windfur. But...

Well, both come to a mutual understanding when StarClan's secret is brought up. Dread. Uncertainty. Upholding the secret of the Iris, to protect ForestClan. In this, she trusts Windfur. He's young, and they don't always get along, but she trusts him to care about ForestClan. Good enough.

🎨 Hobbies?

Windfur has some problems man he does not know what hobbies are on account of the I Must Collect Every Herb so that he is prepared for Every Possible Scenario, otherwise he will fail and everyone will hate him. Thankfully other cats like Cloudthunder, Olive and Morningspot have picked up on this and get him to stop fretting by joining him to chat on patrols or inviting him to play the equivalent of cat playground/board games like lazy mossboll toss or pickup-sticks (basically jenga).

🌳 Family tree?

Actually, Windfur is a bit of a mystery. His dad, Lucifer, initially brough him back to camp as a singleton kit. Lakestar was pretty pissed that he managed to somehow hold a relationship with an outsider without her knowing, briefly making her question what ELSE Clanmates were capable of hiding - but Lucifer said he merely found him on patrol, abandoned. He wanted to adopt him.

Lakestar EVENTUALLY bought it. The coup members would really try to press Lucifer on it in secret, but he just kept repeating, “He’s my son,” with a quiet, dead-eyed stare. They decided it didn’t matter. Windfur was Lucifer’s son, that was that.

🎉 Favorite season/holiday/festivity?

Windfur appreciated the First Bloom Festival! It was the first kind of activity the Clan hosted to just…have fun. He’s hoping that he can see another one someday.

🌲 Favorite location?

Windfur likes walking along the brook during the warmer seasons. The sound of water is soothing to him.

🙀 Greatest fear?

Windfur angsting about Chicoryglint.

TRANSMASC KING WE STAN

I will now use this ask to gush about a funny mental scenario that I have no idea where to fit but want people to know anyway: Riftgorse, Windfur and Barleywave trying to figure out how to groom Branchsnarl's face fur out to look normal but still masculine. They can't figure it out. Airpaw passes by, stares, then goes "his face is square like his mom's. Make it square. Round will just look like he's stung by a bee."

Also, if Windfur didn’t know about Woodgrove taking to Shiverstep, and by extension us, then he would know now if Talontooth ranted to him about it.

Nope! Talontooth didn't go into Windfur's dream, he just telepathically told Flametwig (who was visiting Windfur) to keep him busy for a bit.
