dazai is a boy’s dad while kunikida is a girl’s dad. & if you disagree with me, i’m half sorry to tell you that you are absolutely completely utterly wrong & you should think again.
picture this: kyōka is having her first period.
no one’s at the ada at the moment except for dazai, who is practically panicking because he has absolutely no idea what to do & he knows that little girl needs his help, even though she hasn’t said anything, avoiding being a burden to anyone as she was taught. not leaving the bathroom for almost twenty minutes being enough of an answer.
he knows yosano has pads in the infirmary, so he tries to calm down & grabs one, trying his best to think about how to explain a process he doesn’t quite understand himself.
let’s just say, it didn’t go that well, kyōka was confused &, admittedly, a bit scared, she appreciates the effort dazai put in, but sensing his nervousness only puts her a bit on edge.
it’s then when kunikida arrives (he received a strangely panicked message from dazai a few minutes ago), all calm energy, simple explanations & suggestions, questions that she can easily answer, & before she knows it, they’re sitting in the break room drinking tea & eating cookies, kunikida still answering her questions patiently, telling her that they can go buy different types of pads for her to try, to find the ones more comfortable for her after they finish the tea & cookies, & everything’s fine, aside from her bloodstained nagajuban, but she’ll take what she can.
bonus: after their little trip, kyōka finds her nagajuban without any traces of blood & a little note that reads “sorry about earlier :(”.
