I can’t believe 3 of the best movies I’ve seen this year is Markiplier in a blood ocean, Ryan Gosling befriending a rock, and a bunch of talking sheep solving a murder.

#meg talks #iron lung #project hail mary #the sheep detectives #also obsession but I couldn’t come up with a funny “this movie is better than you’d think it be” kind of tagline for that one #anyways if you want a really good dissection into grief that’s a good gateway of thematic storytelling for kids watch sheep detectives #also a very made for me kind of film because i love murder mysteries and i was obsessed with talking animal films as a kid #anyone remember racing stripes?? i watched that religiously #but i also have always been a fan of media that really understands the complex emotions of grief and how to deconstruct that #and I ESPECIALLY have been big on my high horse that more kids media should have discussions of grief in it #we’ve been softening our blows lately and this feels like one of the few family films to come out and want to discuss hard topics
