Why you can’t be a feminist and a capitalist
People talk about being a feminist all the time. It’s totally acceptable to be a feminist in usual company today, even if you get a few weird looks from your older, more conservative relatives (or your parents). But it’s totally NOT acceptable to be a Socialist. Or even worse, a Communist.
It’s actually kind of important to recognize that you can’t have feminism and capitalism. You can’t have equality for everyone in the world under capitalism.
Without capitalism, the glass ceiling would not exist.
Without capitalism, class inequalities would not exist.
The main feature of 3rd wave feminism is intersectionality, and the true inclusion of minorities in feminism requires people to understand that the development of inequalities between human beings happened when capitalism developed.
As revolutionary feminists, in order to free everyone from oppression, we need to rectify our ideologies with our desire for egalitarianism and realize that it is impossible to be capitalist and feminist.
