Webspinner appreciation post, they are CRIMINALLY underrated bugs.
okay yes weavers are based on spiders obviously but hornet also obviously doesnโt have spinnerets so can the silk come out of her hands webspinner style. pretty please I love webspinners so much
they make homes by weaving roofs over holes in logs and stuff and theyโre called GALLERIES. the silk comes out of their front feet so they canโt run otherwise they trip on it so they have to dash backwards (like the scuttlebrace!! and maybe also why the weavers made the silkspeed anklets!!)
and look at the red memory weaving animation cmon

Oligotoma nigra, or black webspinner Northern California These interesting insects spend the vast majority of their lives living in networks of tunnels made out of silk. The silk protects the webspinners and their eggs and allows them to store food. They like to build their nests under things such as rocks or logs, which offer extra protection from the elements and predators.
Only the adult males have wings. After their final molt (incomplete metamorphosis), the males stop eating. They fly away, and die soon after (hopefully) finding a mate. Strangely, they still have mouthparts, but only use them to hold the female during mating.
The campaign for Insects A to Z has ended well past its goal! Thank you to all who supported the project!
A pirate-ninja is defined as one kilowatt-hour (3.6 MJ) per Martian day, or sol. It is equivalent to approximately 40.55 watts, and was first used in the 2011 novel The Martian by Andy Weir. Weir said in a 2015 interview that the Curiosity rover team at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory uses the similar unit 'watt-hours per sol' in their meetings, and the team told Weir that they should just call them milli-pirate-ninjas.
This bug shit on me
