Let us digress from quantum physics to the motion of water, where British shipbuilder John Scott Russell noticed a solitary wave in a canal in August 1834. Neither Airy nor Stokes accepted this observation, yet in 1895 Korteweg and de Vries found an equation for a wave travelling in shallow water in one direction: u̇ + 6•u•uₓ + uₓₓₓ = 0. The KdV equation is easily solved by restricting from two independent space-time dimensions (x,t) to a single dimension x−λt — a frame matching the speed λ of a travelling wave.

Wave Theory
Hello everyone, I have been informed I did not discuss what I term the Wave Theory on this blog.
The Wave Theory is a theory I made up in the BNHA world where someone proposed that the various myths, sighting of witches and more are in fact Quirks. Magic was Quirks and the various mythical beings were mutations Quirks.
Every once in a while there’s a resurgence of powers that then fall away due to the Witch Hunts, fear and more.
It was only in modern times that the Quirks managed to stay around. But at least 20% Quirkless stay around, so someone proposed that maybe it’s like a wave- sudden appearance and then it falls away.
I never like actually 100% say YES the Wave Theory is correct or not in my fics but it is discussed as a possible idea. Time would tell- with how Quirks have thrived and how no one is trying to stamp them out they’ll probably stick around. Who knows.
