Maths might have my soul someday. Summer has begun here in my home city of Pune, India. I see the beautiful sunny days pass me by in the library as I put my head down and grind on the hellscape that is partial differential equations. Then I fail at the tests regardless.
On the bright side, at least I'm failing at the most difficult major my university has to offer. I'm failing at something worthy. It becomes fun after some practice, honestly. There's worse things to be bad at.

I got laid off from my job because there was an upper management decision to let go of the most recent hires from each team and area.

That’s it. Being in STEM sucks these days: investigation is defunded in my country, teachers are earning between 100 -500 usd a month that doesnt hold a living here… and if you are in the applied or industry side like me, layoffs and instability are becoming more common day by day.
