Warmouth!
During breeding season in the spring, males will create disc-shaped nests in the substrate near a hiding spot like a log or a large patch of grass! After a female lays her eggs in the nest and the male fertilises them, the male will then guard the eggs from anything that approaches, including other females. They're members of the sunfish family!

I can't believe warmouth is second to last in the sunfish poll. i love those guys they were the easiest to ID in my ichthyology class (patch of teeth on tongue = warmouth)
I will always be excited when I catch a Warmouth from this lake. Their population is finally increasing after a bad fish kill
