Trigger warning: surgery pictures Surgery was a success and I am resting comfortably in my room. I am doing well. Eating lots of ice chips right now it helps the throat. I am doing well and will be discharged tomorrow sometime. So Dr. Jeffrey took some pictures too and she gave them to me the first one of my vocal cords is before the procedure the 2nd is after see how she closed it off that raises the pitch she also tightened the muscles that controls the vocal cords. Well here we go again surgery day having throat surgery today January 27 2023 to fix the pitch of my voice. I am at the Royal Alexandra Hospital here in Edmonton I am scared to death right now laying here in this room alone waiting to go in. Being nervous isn't a bad thing for me because it shows that I want to live now when I was younger I wouldn't have cared what happened to me and if I lived or died and was suicidal prior to my transition. I must say I've come a long way in my male to female transition. It's much more comfortable for me now living as a transgender woman. As a guy I didn't care about male clothing or my looks. I really was very shy, awkward and very introverted because I was very self conscious of myself and had trouble talking with girls. I also had trouble talking with anyone. I was like a mute unless I had to talk. I kind of think I was autistic but never formally diagnosed in addition to being transgender and mentally ill. As a transgender woman I welcome talking to girls and even complementing them on their fashion style. I could never do that as a guy. I also enjoy shopping for clothes now because I only buy dresses and female clothes. I also love looking at how I look in my dresses and I feel wonderful as I finally can go outside and feel feminine and live my life as a woman even though I'm transgender and still transitioning awaiting voice and bottom surgery and removal of a lipoma on my back the size of a plum. Once I have my bottom surgery and lose 15 more Lbs and have the lipoma removed I'm game for wearing a bikini 👙 which would be a dream come true for me as I'm 56 and not getting any younger. I wanted surgery since age 16. I had my first meeting with my speech pathologist to help train my voice to sound more feminine. I have two more pre session with Lea Goldberg and then I will have voice feminization surgery on April 13, 2017 if everything works out with insurance and then I'll have three follow up sessions with Lea Goldberg and Dr. Mark Courey of Mount Sinai Hospital. I truly want a feminine sounding voice.
