#visual novel devlog

So since GameJolt gets separate devlogs almost every day, I'll compile a few here:

First off, the game build has all of its files and now its final size stands at a whopping 762 MB! It may be on the hefty side for the browser build of a visual novel, but it will be available as it falls under the 1GB limit! I would highly recommend playing the game on a Chrome Browser, but the analytics show me that the demo has been run on mobile browsers, so I will investigate that as well.

I would like to both thank and apologize to those on here who have played the demo in an effort to help my pre-emptive case to the GJ support staff about not letting the build limit put a cap on the game's quality. As the final game build is well under a gigabyte, the case itself was rendered moot and should not have been made before the game had all of its files.

That being said, I do have some good news: through file compression and slight rewriting of the code, the full game has the demo's quality along with everything I originally intended for the game to have (these were the main things that I guessed would break the 1GB limit and would have to exclude)! That means you'll get all of the planned CGs, all of the secret scenes and characters, all of the planned soundtrack and all of the bonus art and goodies in the full release!

Synopsis:

After paying a visit to a doctor, he concludes that you are an extremely lonely person. To help you with that, he offers you a pill that causes interactive hallucinations! That’s how you meet Wisteria, your new companion — who, despite seeming real, is only a figment of your imagination.

But to what extent can this relationship help you or hold you back?
