My latest project is complete: the Malcador Defender!
If you'll recall, this was my first (and possibly my last) venture into 3D printing. If the old Forgeworld model was available I would have gone with that, but alas, it is not. So a friend of mine printed the top part for me to modify the current plastic Malcador kit.
It was a lot of work, but I think it turned out very well. I did a couple layers of automotive primer and sanding in-between, and that took care of most of the layer lines. I also used plastic parts wherever possible, so in the end the 3D printed area was quite minimal. Luckily I've bought many a Leman Russ in my time, so I had a whole seven spare heavy bolters to use on this model! Even the plastic ones the model came with were small and scrawny. These ones are a lot cooler!
I also made a small modification to my Deathstrike Launchers, adding Hunter-Killer Missiles to their sides. They gotta do something on the first turn of the game!
I still have one more thing to work on for my Valhallans, and then it will be back to my Chaos for me!
