Fifty Shades of Apathy - A True Story.
we think we have authority,
proprietorship over all land and beings
what we would do for the sake
of a little pleasure - kill,
yes, i’m talking about the
millions of animals we slaughter
in attempts to satisfy an insatiable tongue
heard a hundred stories about
animal cruelty in slaughter houses
everything bows down before
the desires of our tongue
they say it’s got no bones
but it has hardened our souls
we have sacrificed compassion
cows, poultry, pigs and fish
the purpose of their existence
is of course, to decorate our dish
‘oh no, we just eat, we don’t kill,
how typical of us to play the blame game,
sweetheart, demand promotes supply
and we who benefit from it
we have lost all sense of shame
stroking ours pets with one hand
while eating steak with another
not realizing, all lives matter
and we have not the right to decide
who should breathe and who shouldn’t
But we simply go on with our lives,
indifferent to the others that we hinder
and the biggest tragedy of all is that
we know all of this and still
when in fact, judging by behavior,

I had been wanting to write this since a very long time and i finally did it. I was worried about offending people but then i realized that i have to advocate what i believe in. This is not a joke. It doesn’t take a lot to change, both our mindset and our lifestyle, so please if you are reading this, i request you to think about it. Let’s work towards making our planet safe for all animals, we’re not the only ones who deserve to live.
