Part 3! Nobody say anything about how long this took. It's not my fault. A lot happened this time and as always, see below.

With the New Peace war machines really had nowhere to go other than trash heaps or to be repurposed. Though, an ethical question was brought up: are machines people? Some machines show sapience. They are self-aware, show judgement, and some can be reasoned with.

Humans advocated for machines and so machines got their own slice of paradise. If paradise was highly surveillance, strictly policed, and provided with less than the bare minimum. At least they’re alive, if what they do can be called living. Machines are second class citizens being used as a work force. The old war machines cobble together what they can for themselves and make sure they keep their heads down.

Heaven saw humanity actually improving. Not by a lot but war had ended and they were rebuilding their societies with chewed up gum and sticky tape. They didn’t need to focus on Hell (in this au humanity never found Hell) so they turned their gaze to the reforming humanity. They didn’t interfere much.

V1 is a beat up war machine that didn’t even go to war. V1 is the most advance war machine, perhaps the most advance machine ever created by humans, and it is now being used as a detective. V1 investigates machine crimes for its human creators and keeps the peace. That is until it’s bender to end all benders. It fried its insides and now doesn’t remember who it is or what it’s even doing here.

Gabriel was a messenger angel, delivering news of omens and prophecies to humanity. Until they decided to blow themselves up. So Gabriel had to pick up a new profession. He became a great warrior for Heaven, enforcing The Fathers order and will. He was set up to become the Judge of Hell but that mantle was given to Lucifer. So Gabriel focused on the Powers, his precious protégés, until he would be needed for a great task.

Everything changes when an angel is murdered on the machines turf. A being made of holy light and the Fathers immortal touch now hangs behind a hotel. V1 is immediately put to the case. Gabriel is also sent down to handle the situation. Gabriel is eager to get everything under control and to lay the situation to rest, but as soon as he sees V1 stumble down the stairs he knows it’s all down hill from here.
