It seems that in 1935 the creators of Superman tried to start a comic tablod in which they did all the stories and art. However it was never published. For some reason they didn’t put their as yet unsold character Superman in it, it did however have Bruce Verne G-Man of the Future.
The Survivor was never published nor finished and is important in that it displays Dave Cockrum's redesign of Timber Wolf and sets up the events that take place in Superboy #197 (September 1973) when the Legion became the lead feature of the book.

Rick Remender seems to have later recycled that kind of concept (a Universal Monsters/Monsters Squad type of team) during his very good run on the Punisher/FrankenCastle (2009-2011).
