lukewarm take tbh but i actually think it’s fine and maybe even good that the entire gaang didn’t get married and have babies in the end. like it makes sense to me that toph chose (imo) to raise her kids as a single mom like yeah of course she’d want to do motherhood her own way after watching her mother be steamrolled by her father in all of their decisionmaking. toph beifong? compromising? with a man? about how to raise HER baby girls? be serious. and like yeah we don’t know if sokka and suki stayed together but is it the worst thing if they didn’t? sokka ended up becoming a chief of the SWT. makes sense babymaking wouldn’t be a huge priority for him trying to lead his nation in rebuilding after a century long war. would it not make sense that suki’s work as a kyoshi warrior that called her to travel a lot would have made a long term partnership untenable? maybe they had a lovely on-and-off situation happening for a long time. maybe they were together but their work made parenthood unfeasible. maybe they just plain old didn’t want kids. love and family is so dynamic and complicated and there’s so many ways to do it right. like can we stop acting like just bc a character didn’t end up in a relationship or with kids means they didn’t have a happy ending.
