Someone just tried to tell me that the Batfam was complicated and confusing.
The batfam is essentially just Batman, his butler, his son, his son, his son, his son, his son, his daughter, his kids' friend, and several friends' kids.
That's like, so much more straight forward than Superman's family.
Superman's got like a not-brother-brother, a brother-son, a son-son, a son-who's-actually-Zod's-son, a cousin, a alternate-universe-cousin, a clone cousin, an alternate-universe daughter, a brainwashed woman, a shapeshifter with the memories of and alternate universe version of his ex, whatever the hell is going on with Linda, and probably a bunch more that I simply don't know about (and his wife duh).

I've seen a lot of great Black Superman designs, so I wanted to do something for Superman's big brother friend guy he met one time big brother* and the stalwart soul of the Legion of Super-Heroes!
I based his face off Sam Cooke, since I wanted to base him off a famous singer from the 60s (which when the LoSH became big, as well as when Mon joined) and to be honest I think Sam Cooke is very handsome. I found a photo of Cooke with the most soulful, beautiful eyes and based the drawing off that. I knew I wanted to give Lar a part as a nod to his normal bangs, but also to make him look like he was from an older time period because of his 1000 years in the Phantom Zone before being freed and joining the Legion
*there was a period of time when the Superman office kept wanting to cut off connections Clark had to "Superman Family" characters, and then wanted to cut references to Superman out of the LoSH entirely. As of now, the canon is back to Mon-El being Clark's "big brother" after having been his foster brother when Lar crashed to earth from planet Daxam
