I am not authentically English. I am unauthentic because I don't fit your idea of what it is to be 'British'. I do not know the Queen. I am not remotely posh. I do not take sugar cubes in tea. I do not drink, or even like, ginger beer. My childhood was not picnics by the sea. Unauthentically- me. I am not authentically Swedish. I am unauthentic because I don't fit your idea of what it is to be 'Swede'. I am not fair skinned and blonde. I am not even remotely tall. I do not drive a Volvo. Unauthentically- me. I am not authentically Swedish. Because, by the same standard you set for others- what cannot agree is the stereotype and me. I do not have much patience, nor do I avoid conflict. I do not eat, or even like, herring. I did not grow up listening to ABBA. Unauthentically- me. I am not authentically Indian. I am unauthentic because I don't fit your idea of what it is to be 'Brown'. I am not uneducated. I do not worship millions of Gods. I have a really, really tiny family. Unauthentically- me. I am not authentically Indian. Because, by the same standard you set for others- what cannot agree is the stereotype and me. I don't watch Bollywood movies, or think they're better than Hollywood. I do not eat, or even like Curry. I was not raised in poverty. Unauthentically- me.
