Not all trauma responses look like fear, anger, or withdrawal.

Sometimes they look like: ✔️ Always saying "yes" ✔️ Avoiding conflict at all costs ✔️ Taking responsibility for everyone's feelings ✔️ Constantly trying to keep the peace

This is known as the fawn response—a survival strategy where people learn to prioritize the needs, emotions, or approval of others to feel safe.

What may appear as people-pleasing on the surface can sometimes be a deeply learned response to environments where disagreement, boundaries, or self-expression felt risky.

The fawn response isn't a character flaw. It's an adaptation.

And like any adaptation, it can be understood, supported, and gradually reshaped.
