At first glance, one figure dominates John Edmonds’ photograph ‘Two Spirits,’ a standout in his gorgeous solo show at the Brooklyn Museum of Art. However, a soft area on the model’s light-bathed right shoulder and the shifting finger and thumb of his left hand testify to the film’s double exposure, a technique that adds to the abundant doubling taking place in the image. While the title is a term referring to nonbinary people, and Dan masks traditionally can shift identity when worn in performance, Edmonds brings to mind a third doubling by citing Ibeji, the Yoruba deity associated with twins. Headcanons for my Two Spirits hc
So, since I’m bitter, I’ll slightly change the Ichihoshi situation😤
Hikaru is the main persona.
He owns a wristband of Mitsuru where his spirit is stored.
He can see his brother’s spirit if he manifests.
Mitsuru’s spirit cannot interact with any object or be heard by anyone outside Hikaru, but if he touches someone they’ll get shivers down their spines. He likes to do that for the fun of it.
When Hikaru goes to sleep, the two brothers can interact in a shared spirit room which they can change to their likings.
Hikaru’s spirit room is cute and filled with toys, soccer related things and family photos. It’s always luminous.
Mitsuru’s spirit room is constantly dark, with few pieces of destroyed forniture, a single photo of Hikaru and nothing more.
With their spirits being linked, they can communicate at any given moment with. their minds, no need to talk out loud
If Hikaru is in danger, Mitsuru will take over in order to protect him.
Mitsuru doesn’t really want to come out (outside from when he needs to protect his brother) but Hikaru will, at times, trick him into taking over. He usually does it when he wants for Mitsuru to fully experience something fun like a rollercoaster or taste his favourite food again!
