looking at the transdad posts and all of them are from, like, 2025!! i saw one about child applications but it was from 2025...ugh...it's a hard life out here...
I just watched a video of a mom talking about her transgender son and started thinking about how amazing and loving my mom has been. I don't think much about how she must have feel during every step in my transition. I am incredibly grateful to have her as my mother. She's been there through it all. The name change hearing, driving me 9 hours away to have top surgery. Taking care of me after surgery. Dozens of doctors appointments. She is the definition of unconditional love. She has not lost a beautiful daughter but lost the gender identity of one of her daughters, and gained a very loving, well raised son. I have her to thank for my big heart. Thank you mom. All of the things you do mean more than you know! ❤️❤️❤️ . . . . . #mom #shesthebest #grateful #fam #trans #transgender #transson
Sam and I had a late night Yahtzee sesh earlier. :) He totally kicked my butt! Lol
Real Talk
Tomorrow Sam's been home a week from the hospital. So far things seem to be going well. Sam seems in better spirits and seems to genuinely be a bit happier. Tonight I had a real nice talk with Sam. It was the most real we've been with each other in a long time and it was great. We talked about Sam being trans and our thoughts and feelings regarding that and how to proceed during the upcoming school year. It'll be Sam's first year at high school. This last year, 8th grade, Sam was content in the girls locker room and restroom. Now Sam's wanting to use the guys locker room and restroom in the coming year. As a mom I, of course, have some very real concerns about that. But, like I told Sam, if that's really what he wants to do, we should talk to the counselor before school starts and see how we can proceed with that. It's been a little over 6 months since Sam came out as trans. And while I'm always supportive and love Sam no matter what, I won't lie. It hasn't been easy for me. But, it is starting to sink in that maybe this isn't a phase. Maybe this is real and it's time to start making progress accordingly. Talking with Sam tonight, seeing how his eyes lit up when talking about how Grandma said "young man" this evening while referring to Sam, it just helped to make it more real for me. It pretty much just boils down to the fact that I love that kid, no matter what.

I know I haven’t posted anything for a while. I’ve been having a bit of a rough time lately. I think I went from one extreme to the next and now I’m heading back the other direction whether I want to or not. When Sam came out in December I freaked out. Then I threw myself into reading blogs, watching YouTube videos, etc..and was crazy supportive. Now I feel like I’m backtracking and hoping that this is all just a phase again. I will always love Sam regardless of his gender or anything else. But I’m having a rough time right now. I think being around my parents more (who aren’t supportive of Sam, but they are trying to be more neutral with their terms instead of using she/her all the time) is what’s guiding me backwards with my acceptance. I hope that I can find a way to get back on track sooner than later. But for now I’ll fake it til I make it when I’m with him. Because really, I love him no matter what. He’s my kid and will always be #1 in my heart. <3
Binder's On Order ...
Well I got Sam's binder ordered yesterday. I'm praying that it fits correctly. I got a medium, he measures 34 around and according to the gc2b website, that's a medium. I ordered him a gc2b white half tank binder. He doesn't know I ordered it yet. And I got the greatest idea for how to give it to him in a support group I'm in. ...I also shared the pic of him with his new haircut, wearing the red D&D shirt. A gentleman in the group saw it and suggested I somehow label it as a Girdle of Femininity/Masculinity. I love it. And I'm so doing that. He'll love it.
I took Sam for his haircut this evening. I love how happy he is. <3 Sam's hairdresser is a friend of ours. She said she was picking up her daughter at school the other day and could tell how much happier Sam is looking these days...she actually said he "looked pretty suave..." ;) That really warms my heart. I'm so glad he's happy, that's what matters to me. Happy & healthy.
